Francesca

Francesca is a little ceramics serie and drawing tribute to the american artist, Francesca Woodman.
When I met the work of Francesca Woodman I was amazed, her images struck me and her work has inspired also mine… there is something dark, sad, mysterious and hypnotic in her work, which has always deeply moved me.

To do this serie I started drawing and then I thought about the ceramic pieces. The ceramic pieces have been made with white clay. It is decorated with silkscreen, so the pieces have had to go three times in the oven.

I really enjoyed doing this photo shoot. The garden was beautiful in the middle of spring, we had not cut the grass for weeks and that gave birth to nature. Then came the wonderful light of evening… a perfect setting for displaying ceramic pieces.
